My card has been hacked twice in only on 18 months with TFB. BUT -- Due to environment we live in today, I make a habit to just login daily to check my balance and look at the last few transactions. It's not the bank bank that has a lapse of security, it's the archaic swipe cards that America still uses. Also, once I identified the fraud TFB immediately shut my card, issued me a new one and within a couple of days everything that was withdrawn was credited back. In ref to withdrawing money, from a teller, this bank is a local friendly bank. After three months of interacting with staff I have been greeted by name when I walk in and never asked for my ID. Whether withdrawing $50 or $5,000.00. This is not your typical BOA. where they only know you if your keeping 6+ figures in their bank. Personally, I love the service. I would say they are little weak by not having a senior staff member in each branch, but these young ones seem trained well, are given true responsibility and that's how you mature in the workplace. I say Kudos to TFB. I have no plans to leave them anytime soon.
I have been with Fauquier bank for about 4 years.Recently my account was hacked due to the recent target scam. I was not informed my card was hacked or that I would receive a new card. Which I never received. This morning, I learn my card is no longer active and several automatic payments were declined. Also I went to withdraw several hundred dollars to have while I wait for the new card and no one at the bank requested to see my Identification. Even after I mentioned the account had been hacked and offered to show my ID. I'm glad it was me who withdrew the cash and not an unauthorized person. It is scary to know if anyone gets a hold of my account number and name could withdraw all my money, no questions asked. I hope they improve on there security asap.
